GreenContributor is a Canadian-based organization connecting
communities and organizations from around the world, to establish
partnerships with schools in developed, developing and underdeveloped
countries. Through its educational programs and participation in
global environmental programs, GreenContributor offers opportunities
for students to participate in environmental research projects and
community outreach programs. Students are challenged to take action
in addressing real problems, find solutions that can be implemented
locally and globally, as well as address the environmental
sustainability component established under the United Nations
Millennium Development Goals.
GreenContributor achieves success through key partnerships, such as
the Department of Geographic Education, University of Erlangen
Nurnberg, Germany, which provides advice and supports GreenContributor
in didactical and pedagogical issues and with Algalita Marine Research
Foundation one of the world's leading organization working on the
issue of plastic marine pollution through research and education.

International Workshops/ Seminars:
Dr.P.Bhattacharyya, Principal, The Cambridge School, Guwahati attended
a workshop on ‘Breakthrough Strategies to Teach and Counsel Troubled
Youth’ held in
Portland [USA]
in October 2010. This programme was a
USA
government initiative aimed at training educationists invited from
various parts of the world to tackle the various behaviourial problems
among the youth. Dr.Bhattacharyya also attended a seminar on the ‘Use
of IT in teaching English’ held in Kuala Lumpur [Malaysia] in
September 2010 during the course of which he presented a research
paper.
National Conference For Teachers
Teachers from The Cambridge School, Guwahati, namely Ms.Leena Dutta
Barua, Ms.Rijumoni Baruah and Ms.Medha Bharadwaj, won the 2nd Prize in
Seminar Presentation at the ‘3rd National Conference for Teachers’ on
‘Future Focused Teaching’ held from
May 13-15, 2010
at the Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati. Mr.Alan Brown, President,
Association of Teachers and Lecturers, UK; Mr.George Brown, General
Secretary, Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland and Dr.George
Palamattam, noted Clinical Psychologists, were among the resource
persons.
